Information on the IAEI Bylaws

MUKADIMAH

Indeed, knowledge and wisdom are derived from Allah SWT as the main gift given by Him to the chosen human race. Therefore, humans must be grateful by using and utilizing it according to His will. With gratitude, Allah will increase His grace and bounty; and with disobedience, Allah will send calamity.

Aware of the mandate given by Allah as khalifah on earth. Aware of the mission of the human caliphate to build the civilization of the earth for the prosperity and welfare of humanity (ista'marokum fiha). Hence, building prosperity (muslihuun) and preserving the earth is a mission that must be in accordance with the will of Allah, and carrying it out is an integral part of worshiping Him. Thus, we as scholars, academics, observers and economic actors, express our determination and unite our steps to develop an Islamic economy, namely an economy based on faith, ethical values and Islamic morality (akhlaqul-karimah) and normative sharia arrangements.

As a manifestation of our responsibility as human beings and as citizens of the Republic of Indonesia based on Pancasila and Undang-Undang Dasar 1945, we are determined and united to participate in advancing the general welfare, educating the nation's life and seeking solutions and problem solving to various issues of economic justice, poverty reduction, distribution inequality, financial and monetary and various other economic issues.

Through the grace of Allah SWT and driven by the noble desire to develop and advance the economy of the people and the nation, therefore with the National Convention of Islamic Economists held at the Palace of the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia on March 3-4, 2004, we declare the establishment of the organization of the Indonesian Islamic Economists Association (IAEI).
